Being compassionate is about being kind towards yourself and others. Compassion can ignite your soul and make you feel good and happy. It can help you heal yourself and others you encounter.
Often when I read the news, there is always So much that disturbs me. Makes me feel like how can humanity have come to this?..While the news can be dismal at times, there are also many stories of bravery, kindness and compassion that come forth. These are the stories that give us hope for a better world, a better future. And, if we in our little worlds can practice that compassion too, wouldn’t that make for a much better story… For us and the for the person you extend your compassion to.
In that spirit of compassion here are some of my favorite quotes from renowned personalities that will ignite the compassion from your soul to help you and everyone around you heal.

He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” ~ Albert Einstein

In order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must have the mud — the obstacles of life and its suffering. … The mud speaks of the common ground that humans share, no matter what our stations in life. … Whether we have it all or we have nothing, we are all faced with the same obstacles: sadness, loss, illness, dying and death. If we are to strive as human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness and more compassion, we must have the intention to grow as a lotus and open each petal one by one. ” ~ Goldie Hawn
